Theatre Production

Lobster Productions is a professional theatre company producing and touring new plays.

We are currently working on our new production 'Butchers Bill' written by Ken Reay. The play will open at The Customs House, South Shields on the 4th September 2006.

Butcher's Bill is a one act play for three actors. It is set in a remote area of No Man's Land in France during the First World War. Although the effects of war, and conquest, are part of the themes, it is not a play about that particular conflict.

We are very interested in the use of percussion in this production, which we will have live on the stage. We want to portray the pain and suffering of man through music and physical movement.

Director Darren Palmer says, "With my experience of contemporary dance and my work with the Northern Stage Ensemble, I want to link these two art forms and create a style of theatre that will be exciting and engaging for the audience.
